Medicare

If you're eligible for Medicare and are at high risk for glaucoma, you're entitled to an annual glaucoma test. Medicare considers you to be at high risk if you have diabetes, a family history of glaucoma, or are African-American and age 50 or older. Under Original Medicare, you pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount after the yearly Part B deductible.

EyeCare America

This public service foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) provides a glaucoma eye exam often at no out-of-pocket expense to eligible patients through its Glaucoma EyeCare Program. EyeCare America also offers an online resource of pharmaceutical assistance programs for help in obtaining ophthalmic drugs for patients in need.
