If your doctor has prescribed an eye drop to lower your intraocular pressure (IOP), you want a medication that is easy to use, safe, and effective. TRAVATAN Z® Solution has been developed by Alcon, Inc., the world's leading eye care company.
TRAVATAN Z® Solution is the world's first prostaglandin analogue without benzalkonium chloride (BAK), a common preservative that some patients may be sensitive or allergic to. TRAVATAN Z® Solution contains the SofZIA® preservative system that protects the bottle from contamination and meets United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards for preservative effectiveness testing.
How it works.
TRAVATAN Z® Solution belongs to a class of drugs called prostaglandin analogues. These drugs work by increasing the drainage of aqueous fluid inside the eye. This increase in drainage lowers IOP and helps prevent damage to the optic nerve, which can lead to a loss of vision.
Who it's for.
Glaucoma and ocular hypertension are conditions that may require long-term medications to lower and control IOP. Many people with glaucoma may need to use more than one medication as part of their glaucoma treatment program.
TRAVATAN Z® Solution is indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who are intolerant of other intraocular pressure lowering medications or insufficiently responsive (failed to achieve target IOP determined after multiple measurements over time) to another intraocular pressure lowering medication.
You are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs to the FDA. Visit www.fda.gov/medwatch, or call 1-800-FDA-1088.
INDICATION
TRAVATAN Z® Solution is a prescription medicine to lower eye pressure in patients with glaucoma who have trouble tolerating their current medicine or for whom that medication is not working well enough.
